I'm sooo very special

Well my mom and dad always told me that I was anyway ;-) No, in all seriousness, I do feel very special on many days. I have been awarded with a couple of things, and I've also received a tag.

First off Katie A thrifty Girl's Guide to the Kitchen gave me two awards!! Thanks Katie - sorry for the delay in posting these!!! You ladies need to check out Katie's blog...she has WONDERFUL ideas!!!!!

This award's rules are:

1. Put the logo on your blog or post
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs that show an attitude of gratitude
3. Link to your nominees within your post
4. Comment on their blogs to let them know they've received this award
5. Share the love and link to this post and the person who nominated you for the award.
6. Tell us how you've come to have an attitude of gratitude
I have a attitude of gratitude because of my family – husband, kiddos – sisters/brothers…mothers/dads. I feel like I am very blessed – my mom and dad raised me to always respect, and have gratitude. I try to teach my children the same way. I am blessed, and very happy, I don’t think I could ask for more.

Next Katie gave me this one!!!
Here are the rules:

I received phone call after phone call this morning wishing me birthday wishes - along with text messages...............I also got MySpace and Facebook messages. It truly has been a great day.

I also came home to this:

The hubs and the kiddos had the house decorated, and they were singing happy birthday!

Just daaannnce

Well........this weekend went by way too fast as usual - hasn't anyone decided a two day work week and a five day weekend yet?!?!?

Friday night - the hubs and I sort of had a date night - all the kiddos stayed at the MIL's house - the house was WAY too quiet! We actually just went out to dinner - the movie started too late, we just went home and was totally lazy couch potatoes!!

Saturday - we didn't do a whole lot really...........but Saturday night there was something BIG going on. McKenna (my oldest) had a PROM to go to!! It was actually for the entire school - but it was mainly for the 6th graders. They had to dress up "formal". McKenna decided she wanted to 'take' someone - she had someone in mind - I told her to call and ask........YEA RIGHT - how embarrassing MOOOMMMMM - what was I thinking. So I ended up calling and asking for her. It was a young man that used to go to church with us - we now go to different churches (my FIL is preaching at a new church) ANYwho - this young man and his dad came to sing at our church - and "JAY" grew up.........McKenna and Jay made eyes at each other all night when he was there - so of course this is who she wanted to ask (he is home schooled). So I called and asked - and he said yes.

McKenna was SO excited. Here are some pics:

McKenna looking so grown up

Here are McKenna and Jay - he even got her a corsage........it was so cute.

They were so cute (and cheesy)

They ended up having a great time - I took them and "dad" picked them hurt. McKenna came home with feet hurting - she said that it was a "TOTAL blast".
SIGH...they grow up way too fast!

Just eat it, eat it, just eat it, eat it

There is a TV Channel that I absolutely LOVE and I say LOVE to watch......Food Network I am talking I could probably turn my TV on and leave it on this channel ALL day. There are certain shows - that I do prefer above others.

I mean really - they have great ideas.......and they make EVERYTHING look so good. I probably wouldn't eat half of what is cooked - not to look at me, but I'm picky - very picky. But just watching I want what they are making, I can practically smell it through my TV!!

Here are a few of my favorite shows:

Challenge - this comes on every evening at 7 PM - they have different challeges....sometimes it's grilling....a pillsbury cook-off (they win some nice prizes!) My favorite to watch are the cake challenges........OMG these cakes look AMAZING!!! See below at the cake...I mean does this look like just your normal cake? A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!
Iron Chef America....loves it. I just love all the chefs on this show....they always do a great job, I love watching what they will come up with next!!!! All their dishes look so pretty!

Ace of Cakes...this sort of gets to me like Challenge does....these cakes just rock!! I love watching them - I would be as big as a house if I worked at this place. But I would SO love to do it!!! I am just in ahhh of them. See cake below - WOWZA!!

Ahhh MIZZ Rachel Ray - I love love love watching her shows every day!! She has some of the best ideas. She used to irk me for some reason, but now I look forward to her shows. (I have actually made myself a little cookbook with some of the different receipes)

I just like watching Ina for some reason - she soothes me. She reminds me so much of my Aunt Alexis.

These two right here are not really my favorites, but I do like to watch these as well. She always has the "lightest touch" to me.

This is just something I like to do. I actually LOVE cooking - I used to pretend when I was little outside...to always be cooking. I still to this day in my kitchen (when I'm by myself) I pretend I'm on a cooking show - yes I do know that I'm a dork........but I don't care - I like it. :-)

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail...hopping down the bunny trail.....

I hope everyone had a good Easter - we sure did. The kids should be ALL egged out. Saturday they hunted eggs at Church, then that evening they hunted eggs at Nanny and Papa's house. Sunday afternoon they hunted yet again with my side of the family. Everyone had a great time - the weather was AWESOME.

We got to take family pictures.......I went through probably 200 pics - trying to get the kids to sit still and smile was a job. Jerimy can say one thing and they listen........SIGH!!
